The background story behind Charlotte’s Web CBD is a touching one. The company is named after Charlotte Figi, who became the face of the medical CBD movement. Charlotte was born with Dravet syndrome and suffered from seizures. Her condition deteriorated to the point where Charlotte was experiencing over 300 seizures a week by age five. Charlotte was wheelchair bound and had to use a feeding tube for food. Doctors told the Figi family that there was nothing more they could do pharmaceutically. The Figi’s then turned their attention to alternative medicine and began researching CBD. 

The Figi family found a local grower, Joel Stanley, who agreed to supply them with CBD oil extract. Once Charlotte began taking CBD oil, her seizures stopped for the first seven days. She started walking, making eye contact, and talking. She was even able to eat without the feeding tube. Charlotte’s seizures were reduced from over 300 a week to once a month. 

Joel Stanely founded Charlotte’s Web in 2011 in honor of Charlotte Figi. The company’s story started with Charlotte, but has since grown to include the stories of hundreds of thousands of people who have used Charlotte’s Web CBD products.
